
Washington, DC is a bustling metropolis full of energy and different events for students to attend. There is always something happening and so many thing to do. We have museums for every taste, Smithsonian Institute, National Air and Space Museum, National Zoo, American History Museum, American Indian Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Crime and Punishment Museum, International Spy Museum, and The News Museum to name a few. There is the National Mall and Memorial parks with memorials to Civil War veterns, law enforcement officers,Vietnam veterans, and other notable heroes. Tours of historic sites, neighborhoods and gardens - the African American Heritage tour, the American Heritage tour, the White House tour and U.S. House of Representatives tour to name a few. We have theaters - The Kennedy Center, Ford's Theater and the National Theater, and we have athletic events - Washington Wizards, Washington Mystics, Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals, Washington Capitals and D.C. United Soccer.
On top of all of that the city offers shopping, movies, concerts, nature trails, diverse cultural events, historic homes, buildings, embassies and cultural centers and of course great restaurants. It is easy to get to these events on Metro. CUA has a metro stop (Brookland/CUA stop on the red line) right beside the campus.

Catholic University's location in the nations capital provides students with access to a multitude of opportunities for studies, research, and fun. Students have a chance to intern for area corporations and government agencies.
The American Sociological Association and the D.C. Sociological Society have offices in the area and conduct meetings that students are invited to attend. Students are also encouraged to use the Library of Congress, have reading, borrowing and online privileges at 11 other regional university libraries through CUA's membership in the Washington Metropolitan Consortium of Universities and visit the many museums in the area.
