Sociology Minor

The Sociology minor allows students from other disciplines to gain a foundation in sociological research and an introduction to evidence-based interpretations of contemporary social problems.

The Department of Sociology requires six courses for the minor:

SOC 101 Introduction to Sociology or SOC 102 Global Social Problems
SOC 202 Research Methods
SOC 352 Contemporary Sociological Theory
Three additional criminology electives.
The course distribution allows students to minor in sociology with a concentration in one of the three tracks (Cirme and Justice; Global and Comparative Processes; Public Analysis).
